On Saturday 7 September Stratford-on-Avon Labour members from across the constituency joined the Stratford 4 Europe “Defend Democracy: Stop the Coup!” rally at the Stratford Recreation Ground. John McDermott (CLP Secretary) gave a rousing speech. He said:

“‘Boris Johnson was elected by 92,000 members of the Conservative Party, which represents less than 1% of the UK electorate. He has no mandate from the people for a no-deal Brexit, no majority in parliament. He is also insisting that he will not abide by any law preventing no-deal. This is an attack on democracy that must be resisted both inside and outside parliament. We will not accept the dictatorship of Boris Johnson. Keep up the fight!”
